Dr. Seuss 1

Hey there!!

This week, we started on Dr. Seuss crafts. We will have Dr. Seuss crafts for two weeks.

We started our week with the famous Red and White hat! :) Each child that came to school on Monday, made a hat, we replaced the word "Name" with the child's name.

Tuesday, we made the Lorax. We used construction paper for the brightness instead of stamping or paint.

Wednesday, each child painted a paper plate. This was folded for the fox head. Construction paper eyes, nose and card stock ears completed the fox! This is a new Dr. Seuss craft that we have done for the first time.

On Thursday, we made wockets in our pockets! My dear friend drew the wocket for us. I can't say thank you enough Carmen Welch for your awesome talent!! I shall treasure this for years to come, and probably include this craft each year, when we do a Dr. Seuss theme.

Footprint Friday.. These were created for the book, "The Foot Book". You have to have a footprint a week, right??  :)

Looking forward to another week of Dr. Seuss. It's one of our favorite themes!!
May God continue to Bless You!

Dental Health!

This was a fabulous four day week.
This week we talked about the importance of brushing our teeth and keeping our gums healthy!

On Tuesday, (There was no school Monday) We splurged and had the children make their very own Mardi Gras masks. They had fun picking out feathers and gluing them onto the poster board masks. We stapled a large craft stick to the side.

For Wednesday, The kiddos placed cotton balls onto a tooth pattern. We included this song, which I found on the internet many moons ago. Definitely not one of my originals, but, it's still a great catchy tune.

On Thursday, we brushed away our sugar bugs. Nobody wants sugar bugs on their teeth, it will give ya the heebie jeebies!! We had the kiddos use a toothbrush dipped in white paint to brush away the sugar bugs. We purposely don't completely cover the sugar bugs, to purposely remind our kiddos to brush them away. This poem, I did write, but not this year. :)

Last but not least on Friday. the kiddos made beautiful smiles. This poem, I did write this year. Each year, we try and change something, either by a poem or design at least one day of the week. Even when we do the same crafts from year to year. :)

Hope you have a terrific weekend!!
Love and Blessings,
Sherry :)

Valentine's 2

Yikes, I got behind again!!!

I honestly try to keep up!!

For our second week of Valentines, we made this one on Monday..

For Tuesday, we made: I found the coloring sheet on Pinterest. It was a free download. I think it may be on my board,    We had the children bingo dab the word Valentine to make it pop! :)

We made sure each child had their picture taken and all our parents received a special valentine from our kiddos. For some of the grandparents that we see each day, we included them on this one. :)

We held our party on Thursday, Feb 12th because, we actually have a few more students that attend school on Thursday than Friday. I forgot to take a picture of our Valentine bags, sorry! :(  We didn't really do much a craft on Thursday, because of the party. Each child did get to make a Valentine Bag and by the end of the party, they were slap full of treats and goodies!!

On Friday, we made a little President's Mini Book. There was no school on Monday, for it was President's Day. The kiddos LOVED hearing about President Lincoln and how he was president 100 years before I was born!! (Not quite sure they understood the numbers, but, they were excited about it!! :)

May you all be Blessed and thank you for visiting.

Valentine's 1

It's hard to believe we are already in our second week of February! I know, I am a little late with this posting, but, not too bad! At least I made it before Valentine's Day!! It's down to only a few days before, but.. it's still before!!

On Monday, Feb 2, it was Groundhog's Day! So, yep, we jumped on the bandwagon and made the footprint groundhog. I think I saw it on FaceBook.. I saw it on Pinterest... I think I about near saw it everywhere, and I have to say, it was THAT CUTE and we just had to do one too!! :)

Tuesday, we officially started on the Valentine Crafts! We did a handprint craft, but, through the excitement we forgot to make a heart in the palm of the hand. However, the poem was nice.

Wednesday, We asked Jesus to be our Valentine! The children painted hearts and added some fingerprint hearts around the edge. In Chapel, we learn that a smile is a hug from Jesus, so each child, on their paper received a Jesus Hug! :)

Thursday, we decided to teach the children how to say, "I Love You" with their hands. We sing in Chapel "This Little Light of Mine" and we use our index fingers as our lights while singing the different verses. We told the children to put up their lights. Then we showed them how to make an L by putting their thumb out. Lifting up your pinkie finger with the now made L will let someone know you love them. We traced their hands and folded down finger to say, "I love you!" The children decorated their hearts with bingo dabbers.

Friday, we had the children use crayons to decorate crosses. We added the bible verse 1 Corinthians 13 to the heart for a finished project.

This concludes week one of our Valentine's Crafts! More next week!!!
Many Blessings,
Sherry :)
