Bugs Bugs Bugs

This particular week, we went a little buggy...

Melissa was sick for two days, and I had a substitute. The weather was awesome, and instead of making a craft, we took well advantage of the wonderful world of outside.

Now, I appreciate my subs, but, the kiddos tend to show out a little more or get a little picky about things. It was just so much easier to do what was simple and what I thought was best. :)

We started back with our crafts on Wednesday, when Melissa was able to come back to work.

Wednesday, we made Baby Bumblebee Handprints.

Thursday, we made the toe caterpillars.  I did manage to write a new poem to go with our toe print caterpillars. The font used for the poem is redressed.

Friday, we made shoe print butterflies. I didn't this year, but, I also wrote the butterfly poem.  I really like these, because almost all the kiddos have a different print on the bottom of their shoes. (To get the print, we rubbed a crayon over a piece of paper that sat on top of the shoe. A peeled crayon lying on the side, really works well!)

Next week, we will have a split week between St. Patrick's Day Crafts and Weather!

God Bless,
Sherry :)

Dr. Seuss 2

We finished up our second week of Dr. Seuss.

This year, we had some mighty picky eaters so we decided to skip the green eggs and ham, but, we did add, Go, Dog. Go!

Some of these, I know you will have recognized from previous years.

We have loads of fun with this theme, which is why we choose to do two weeks.

Monday: We know this wasn't written by Dr. Seuss, but, it is truly enjoyed by all. This day was a picture day, so we kept it pretty simple. We used the bingo dabbers to create this little guy.

Tuesday: In all honesty, we didn't do a craft on this day. It was a second day of pictures, and a day for group or class pictures. Melissa decided to paint the girls nails. We will make up this craft. :)  After I figure out what it will be. Thumbing through all our Dr. Seuss Books, I found one.. I didn't have a picture that I liked, so I pulled out our Scholastic Patterns. I found one that I thought I could use, partially. I found a picture of a lady driving a car... I knew what I had to do. I wanted a DOG driving the car. Unfortunately, by the time I got the picture how I liked it and copied. Our day was over. :(  It's okay, we just doubled up on some other days. I think only 2 of my kiddos didn't make one of these. After creating the picture, we just had the kiddos to color them.

Wednesday: The famous Horton Hears a Who. :) We have did this in the past.

Thursday: We made Thing 1 and Thing 2. We kinda messed up on these, by not painting the entire bottom hand red. We discovered it half way through the craft, so we just kept it.

Friday: We decided to go with a new craft for One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. I found this on Pinterest and decided it would add nicely to our collection. We had the children bingo dab white mini cupcake liners to create fish. We kept things simple for our little guys!

We started working on these last week, so we could get them all finished by the end of this week. Remember, our kiddos do not come daily. We have some that only come Monday and Friday, Some to come Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Some to come Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and of course, some come all five days. It's quite the mixture, I left out a few combinations, for I think you get the idea. We took pictures of each child, had them bingo dab the hot air balloon, then we glued them on construction paper added some original poems in cloud shapes, laminated and sent these home. All 18 children completed one.

May God continue to Bless and Keep you all. Next week, we are "Goin' Buggy"!
