Thanksgiving!!

This week, we started on Thanksgiving Crafts.  Actually it could have been a Turkey Week, but we "fowled" it up on Wednesday, with an Indian Corn Craft!!

Monday, we made the dltk.com shoe print and hands turkey. We just cut everything from construction paper. Suck personality the sticker eyes give the turkeys!

Tuesday, we made the Goofy Silly Turkey. The template can be found at:
http://www.mrsminersmonkeybusiness.com/  This was a Pinterest find this year. We made a sign using a jumbo craft stick and by cutting off the part where the turkey was talking on the template.  We also glued coke can tabs on the back of the turkey head and the sign for easy hanging.

Wednesday, we made the Bingo Dabbed Indian Corn. I typed up the little poem that was found on Oriental Trading.

Thursday, we made another turkey! This time we just had the kiddos to paint the turkey and we printed up the Turkey Hop and placed it on the paper for fun dancing at home!!

Friday, we made the traditional hand print turkey, just turned into a stick puppet that can be sung to our Hello Mr. Turkey Song.  The puppet was placed in the slit of the paper so it can easily be removed by the kiddos to sing the song while holding the turkey!

All caught up with my blogging and our crafts.  Next week, we have two days of school and we intend to do a picture craft with all of the kiddos!! :)

Many Blessings to each of you!
Sherry

Down on the Farm!

Another fantastic week at Preschool!! This was a fun theme to do.  There are so many ideas out there for a farm theme!!

Monday, we had a double craft. For it was Veteran's Day and the beginning of our Farm Week! We had the children color a flag for Veteran's Day.  We made the simple rooster and attached a poem to the back of the plate.

Tuesday, we sponge painted a "cloud" shape for the sheep's body. Added the face, ears, and legs. The kiddos had a lot of fun painting and watching the creation of the sheep being made from a "cloud"!

Wednesday, we made PURPLE COWS! Scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream and pour a little grape soda on top of the ice cream.  This was a HUGE HIT at school, with both teachers and kiddos!! One little boy was eyeing the ice cream, I think his mouth watered for it, until I poured on the grape soda. The excitement escaped right from his little face! Then he looked at it, and looked at me, and said, "I don't think I like purple cows!" I asked if he would JUST try it for me! He did, well, he couldn't get enough of it. He said, "I do like Purple Cows!!" Another little boy, we were told by his mom, talked to his daddy on the phone (while he was out of town) and dad asked if there was anything he would like for him to bring to him.  Sam said, "Oh Yes, Daddy, Banilla Ice Cream and Purple Drink!" Each person at the bottom of the coloring page got a YES! in the blank that asked if they liked it.

Thursday and Friday we had another two day craft.  Each child made a farmer. This was found on Pinterest as well.  We didn't really like the shovel, so we cut that from the template and from Bing.com I found horse clipart that fit perfectly under the hand as if the farmer is petting the horse!! Each child was there own Old Mac-Farmer! The template was found at http://www.allkidsnetwork.com/crafts/detail.asp?fil=/crafts/farm/images/farmer-craft-template.jpg&cat=Farm&nam=Farm-Craft-Template

Friday, we made pink polka dotted pigs. The pig was copied onto pink paper, then polka dotted with stickers and glitter glue to make it sparkle. I wrote this original poem that was used.  This was a very simple craft.

Definitely a fun fun week!! :)

Many Blessings,
Sherry

Fall

I know I'm writing blogs all in the same day, for different months, I didn't realize I had fell so far behind on my blog! Sorry about that! :)

This week, we made Fall Crafts.

On Monday, we made the Wide Eyed Owl. The kiddos painted plates brown, and glued on the attachments. The poem was placed on the back of the paper plate owl.

On Tuesday, we made Fall Leaf Squirrels with the poem attached. The kiddos colored the squirrel and then we went on a leaf hunt outside. This year, we used real leaves. I have used leaves cut from construction paper.

For Wednesday and Thursday, we made Fall Trees! Each child did one of these. Another two day project!
We painted the arm and hand. We had the children bingo dab a circle for the tree. We attached the poem at the bottom of the tree.

Friday, we made edible acorns.  This year, we had no allergies, so we used the Nutter Butter Bites, Milk Chocolate Chips, Candy Kisses and glued everything together with milk chocolate whipped frosting.  Everyone LOVED these!!

We had a lot of fun this week with our crafts. Next week, we will head to the farm!! :)

Blessings,
Sherry :)

Halloween!!

For Halloween we made some interesting items.  Some are repeats, but were well worth it!!

On Monday before the week of Halloween, we made Christian Jack-O-Lanterns.

Tuesday, we made our Jack-O-Lantern Cross.

Wednesday, we made the pumpkins with the hand prints. Each child made one of these in our classroom!!
This was a two day project.

Friday's Craft, is a little hard to see. The kiddos colored a piece of paper, we cut it into the pumpkin shape and added the Christian Pumpkin Symbols to the pumpkins.

Monday, we started on our Scarecrow Bags! These will be used for when we go from door to door on the 31st to collect treats and trinkets at each of the classrooms at work.  Each child made a scarecrow bag, so this too, was a two day project in order to get all kiddos.  (Our children do not all come five days, so we have to spread out some of our crafts to catch everyone over a two day period!)

On Wednesday, we just made the popcorn scary hands.  They kiddos really enjoyed eating popcorn and creating scary hands.  Everyone got to choose the color spider ring they wanted.  Trust me, don't wait until the day before Halloween to try and purchase spider rings.  They aren't the easiest thing to find!! :)

Our party was on Halloween.  We didn't do a special craft on this day!!

There was one day of the week left from the week of Halloween, so we decided to do a fall acorn for this day in our classroom!! Love the little song that is attached to it. A wonderful friend of mine taught this song to me many many years ago.  I know it's been around and is still found on the internet! :)

The week after Halloween, we began our fall crafts.

Blessings,
Sherry :)
