Pet Week!

This week at school we had a pet theme.

One of our mom's brought in a pet turtle!! We had a lot of fun with Shelly the Turtle!

For pet week, on Monday, we  made a stretchy dog. The pattern was found on the web. We bingo dabbed the dog. Attached the ear with a Brad.  Cut brown construction paper accordion style to make the dog stretch.

Tuesday, we made a stand up kitty.  This was found on . I am a member
of this site and was able to get the pattern. We painted the cat with dabs of orange paint! After the kiddos painted the cat, we cut it out and placed the glue at the head and the top portion of the cat's body, leaving the legs open so it would stand up.

Wednesday, we made the pet birds.  We really wanted to make the bird cage birds that was posted on Pinterest, but, time didn't allow, so we settled for these.  :) The bird was found on Bing, and we tweaked it to what we wanted.  The bird is sitting on a "swinging perch". The children used sticker eyes and we painted handprints minus the thumb for the wings using sparkly finger paint. The beaks and feet are just cut from orange construction paper, and the body is cut from blue.

Thursday is the day Shelly visited, so we made our own turtles. Shelly brought a lot of fun to the classroom. We bingo dabbed the back of a cheapie white paper plate, using multiple colors.  The turtle template was found on Bing.  We did cut the tail down some, for it was just too big! We stapled the head, legs, and tail to the plate.

Friday, we made pet bunnies.  I found the template from Bing and then wrote a poem to fit the need. The kiddos painted the bunny brown, then we cut it from the paper.  Glued it down to construction paper, had the kiddos place a cotton ball on top of glue and had them place a sticker eye.  The poem was also backed on black construction paper before being glued down.

Next week, we will have our Apple Week.  We usually do apples to celebrate Johnny Appleseed's Birthday. I may not place pictures next week, because some of the pictures of the crafts we will do have already been posted long ago.  We shall see if we have new stuff! ;)

Many Blessings,
Sherry :)
