Last Week of School 2011 - 2012

Wow, our last week of school!!  I can honestly say, we worked hard getting to this week!  Monday, we had to finish up all our placemats.  (They really aren't placemats, but they are laminated pictures since the beginning of the school year.)  We start out with a beginning of school picture, and usually at the beginning of each month we took another picture of each child. We try real hard to take the end of the school year picture at the same place as the beginning of the school year, so you can visually see how much the children grow.  It's a neat project, just time consuming at the end of the school year when we rubber cement all the pictures then laminate them.

We also started a Spanish Coloring Sheet folder at the beginning of the school year.  Sometimes, there are a few kiddos that miss coloring their pictures, so we have to catch those up.  Melissa is pretty awesome at keeping up with those!!

This year, we also tried our hands at an "All About Me" Book.  This book was a little work as well. I believe it was well worth it by the end of the school year!

We gave the kiddos some sidewalk chalk, some bubbles, and a cd of the music we use in our classroom.  For Mom and Dad, we gave them a cd copy of all the pictures that we took during our school year!! This way, if we take a favorite picture, it can be copied or printed on a picture machine!

We had a lot of goodies for everyone as we said our goodbyes to our classroom!!  What a sad and happy time of year.  We truly don't like goodbyes, but it is such a pleasure to send our kiddos off to the "Big Kid" class! This means we have had a very successful school year.

Thursday, May 17, 2012, our last day of school! What a day!!! I'd like to give a big shout out to some of our Parents, Mrs. Raber, Mrs. Littlefield, Mrs. Hatcher, Mrs. Carter, and Mrs. Hiltz.  These ladies have truly been there for us when we needed them.  They have watched our classroom so we can attend "Big Kid" Programs and especially Kindergarten Graduation.  None have complained when we took off our teacher hats and put on our Gramma and Aunt hats to be there for family! (My Granddaughters!) We can't thank you enough!!!

We started this day with Kindergarten Graduation.  I cried! It's hard to believe, my little granddaughter has graduated kindergarten and is moving on to big school!  Graduation was beautiful! Thank you to Mrs. Williford and Mrs. Preast for a terrific kindergarten experience!

Getting back to the classroom, we said our goodbyes to the kiddos then Lakendra and I headed towards North Carolina, for my mom had surgery the day before.  I'm still in I type my blog!
We will go home next week!!

I wanted to take the time to officially say good-bye to our students and to welcome our new students for Summer Fun! Summer Fun begins on Monday, June 4th! I probably won't blog again, till the weekend of Summer Fun!

Blessings until then!
